In 1983 I was selected to attend a “On the Job” training with a few Korean Companies that produce ammunition and explosives with three other officers which were Capt Ng Chin Huat (now Brig Gen) , Warrant Officer Balakrishnan (rtd) and Warrant Officer Hamdan Rahman (Retired Major). We left the old Subang Airport with a China Airlines flight and did have a night stop at Hong Kong before proceeding for Seoul with a transit stop in Taipeh.

We arrived at the Kimpo airport and we stayed a night in Seoul before continuing to Yeosu by train. On arrival at Yeosu which is a port town we stayed at the Yeosu Tourist Hotel. Being a sea side town i was exposed to some exotic seafood delights which resulted me in having some stomach discomfort. The town of Yeosu is small and we just wondered the town and outskirts when we have time visiting a few temples. We stayed in Yeosu for three weeks and the proceeded to Pohang where we took the Hydrofoil to Pusan before proceeding to Angang which is near Pohang.

We stayed in the town of Angang and made daily trips to the factory. Angang is a tourist town as we spend the weekends around Angang outskirts and tourist attractions. We proceeded to Pusan after spending two weeks in Angang.

We stayed as i could remember at Haeundae-gu beach. After spending a week there we then went back to Seoul for a few days before departing for Malaysia.
