I cant remember what time that I did arrive Berlin. The first thing I did when I arrived at the bus station was to book a ticket somewhere that night and the only destination available on my Eurolines ticket was Prague.

After getting a locker for my backpack I hopped on the Metro Line to the heart of the City which was the Alexanderplatz Metro station. Walked around and decided to take the Hop On Hop off Bus.

One of the first of stops was the Brandeburg Gate. I walked around the area and then I decided to continue on the Hop On Hop Off bus route and I only noticed  the building that I was really looking forward to visiting,  the Reichstag was just beside it. I decided to continue the ride on the bus until it reached Pariser Platz again and walked all the way back to the Reichstag.

It took the bus about one hour to reach the start of Pariser Platz but I made a short stop at the famous Checkpoint Charlie which was in the former American sector of the former West Berlin.

Started walking and I really enjoyed the facades of the buildings along the Pariser Platz. I reached the Reichstag but as it was an early winter day it was getting dark. As I stood in front of the Reichstag I could just imagine the events that had taken place there…the advancing Russian troops storming the Reichstag which marked the end of  World War II in Europe. After spending time there Iwalked back to the Pariser Platz and stopped by the Christmas markets along there. Headed back to the Alexanderplatz subway station to catch my bus to Prague that night.

Departed Berlin for Prague.
