27/02/2011.

Woke up to a late morning and after breakfast catch a taxi and headed to the Cultural Centre of the Philippines to take the ferry to Corregidor Island . Cost of the return trip two thousand one hundred Pesos including lunch and the light and sound show.
Arrived Corregidor Island after an hour ride on the ferry. The first stop was for lunch which was held at the South Beach of the island. I took the Jeepney ride to the top side of the island where the Headquarters of the US forces under the command of General Mac Arthur was located. Spent about and one and a half hours there visiting the Pacific War Museum , the War Memorial , The Spanish Lighthouse, ruins of the Headquarters and the Mile Long Barracks. We visited a few of the gun emplacements on the island. I notice all the guns had sharpnel marks on them. One of the guns was blown away out of its position. Visited the famous Malinta Tunnel and I did enjoyed the Light and Sound show that was presented in the tunnel. We left the island at 6pm.
Arrived back manila and took a taxi back to the hostel……..had coffee at Burgos street before retiring for the day
